London MLE SEN Videos
LGfL have produced a host of short, instructional videos on how to make the most of the learning platform and other LGfL services such as Podcasting and Video Central. These provide ideas and useful tips to enhance accessibility and learning for children with special needs.
London MLE Example Rooms
SEN Exemplar Room
This room has been created by LGfL, to help SENCO’s, with resources and links to relevant SEN material. It has descriptions for pictures and room tools, that utilise Microsoft narrator. In student view, the pupils can only see the FrontPage and personal folders, Inside the personal folders, the SEN pupil will be able to create/upload various sound files, pictures and video. If the room is viewed in the Mozilla Firefox browser, the room tools will flash when hovered over.
The Plasma Screen & Whiteboard Room is a free website where teachers in special schools can download teaching resources, created by other teachers, that they can use on their plasma screens, interactive whiteboards, etc. All the resources have been created by teachers and are free to use for educational purposes. Copyright remains with the owners of all the resources on the site.
To promote the welfare and interests of disabled children and to improve the support they receive, this page provides a wide range of SEN and disability advice and materials for teachers, parents, LAs and others working with children with SEN in England.
The TTRB launched a new special educational needs (SEN) portal to provide an authoritative source of information on SEN issues and a forum for teacher trainers, mentors and coaches to keep up-to-date and exchange information and ideas. The site aims to support the development of effective practice relating to pupils and young people experiencing barriers to learning and raise the ability of future teachers in teaching and understanding SEN.
The site has a range of resources, including reviews of Teachers TV programmes relating to SEN. It even provides access to the 1978 Warnock report as a searchable online resource for the first time.
