Sites for LEAs, Schools Leaders and E-safety officers

Childnet gives information about blogging and social networking and serves as a gateway to the much larger www.blogsafety.com website which they support. Parents, teens, educators, and experts discuss and learn about safe blogging and social networking.

Childnet also produced a school awareness program. http://www.kidsmart.org.uk/default.aspx

Childnet has produced two special leaflets for parents and pupils which illustrate the SMART safety tips and include fuller advice on Internet safety and mobile use. The leaflets can be ordered in English, Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi and each school in England and Wales receives 50 free. SWGfL Safety Section
The output from the SWGfL safety working group has been focused on policy/documentation, communication, system improvements and partnerships. An update report detailing the specific developments is available from their site.

 

Anti-bullying guidance from the DfES published in 2006.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre works across the UK and maximises international links that combines police powers with the dedicated expertise of business sectors, government, specialist charities and other interested organisations - all focused on tackling child sex abuse wherever and whenever it happens. http://www.ceop.gov.uk/

CEOP have developed this significant resource, created for children and young people. It's full of great stuff on how to stay safe online, with a section where children can report abuse directly. http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

The Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) is made up of law enforcement agencies from around the world working together to fight child abuse online. The aim of the VGT is to build an effective, international partnership of law enforcement agencies that helps to protect children from online child abuse. http://www.virtualglobaltaskforce.com/

The UK hotline for reporting illegal content specifically: IWF are working with the Internet industry, police and government to combating images of child abuse online. http://www.internetwatch.org.uk/
