What does this job involve?

  • Co-ordinate product management for online shopping content of www.harrods.com, maximising sales potential and merchandise performance. To conduct web content administration forms, issuing, gathering, adding/implementing/removing product details & sequencing categories/ products online.

  • QA (Quality Assurance) – Assess the Graphic User Interface, technical checks, marketing checks & merchandising checks in order to ensure that web design & content (homepage & secondary pages) are consistent with house style & have up to date & correct information, working with the communication teams to ensure that all the information are on the site.
  • Obtain appropriate approval & relevant sign off for web content changes
  • Co-ordinate photo-shoots of products & understand use of naming conventions of web item references.
  • Editing/cutting out/re-sizing web products on Photoshop before products are put live.
  • Assisting in the production of web content rotation schedule daily & web content from brief through to completion in research, defining & implementing new creation following web redesign & web hierarchy.
  • Assisting in the analysis of web statistics (visitors hit rate, conversion rates, page view summaries, products hit, etc…).
  • Verification on stock levels & basic figure analysis from CSS & SAP. Liaise with merchandisers to add/remove products or reduce to clearance online.
  • Liaising with Customer Service & Call Centre on providing information for new products added online.

Advice for those interested in following a similar career or for pupils planning courses/career generally?

If deaf children are seeking for a career in the Internet & E-Commerce, then my advice is to gain relevant education/skills/abilities/experiences. Most importantly, choose any kind of education & career that you really enjoy the most.
