Children's BBC progamme Blue Peter have apologised on air after faking a live phone in competition.

As usual, they invited children to ring in to enter the phone in competition. Apparently due to technical failure they were unable to select a child that had rang in. Because of this, a member of staff asked a child to phone in and give the correct answer to the question. The same child was then awarded the prize.

Presenter Konnie Huq said,"We'd like to say sorry to you because when this mistake happened, we let you down."
