For Junior swimming, the uniform is black or navy swimsuit or trunks. Long hair must be tied back or plaited. All PE kits should be in school every day. PE is part of the National Curriculum and all children must participate unless there is a medical reason why they should not. In that case, we would need a medical certificate for permanent exclusion from PE and a written note for a temporary reason for non-participation. Jewellery Items of jewellery are unsuitable for Primary School pupils to wear during the school day. Rings, necklaces, brooches and earrings should be left at home. A number of children have pierced ears. Please ensure that these children wear only studs to school. Earrings can be dangerous for the wearer and for other children if they catch during physical activity, particulary PE and Games. Any other piercing is not permitted e.g. nose, eyebrows etc. Hair bands, scrunchies and slides should be in red, navy, grey, black or white. All uniforms should be clearly labelled with the child's name. PE uniform must be in a plastic or drawstring bag - not large holdalls.
