Giant African Land Snail

 

Invertebrate: no bones.

Mollusc: no legs, outer shell, tentacles.

Habitat: damp areas in Africa.

Eats: plants, it is a herbivore. They will also eat pieces of rock to help them make their shells.

 

 

Fascinating Facts

They have eyes on their top two tentacles. They are called tentacles, not antennae, as they can be withdrawn for protection.

They are active at night (nocturnal).

They lay hundreds of jelly like eggs under logs and stones.

Some people like to eat them.
