Education for 11-16 year olds needs to be challenging, demanding, vigorous and inspiring. We need high standards in the basics, but pupils need to be motivated and engaged in learning through a range of approaches to teaching and learning. The secondary strategies team provides support, consultancy training and leadership to schools through the delivery of the national Secondary Strategy. In order to transform the learning experience of pupils in our schools, and to accelerate the raising of standards in achievement and attainment, we work with and support schools in establishing high expectations for all pupils and setting challenging targets for them to achieve. In particular we work with schools to * Strengthen the transfer from KS2 and ensure good progression in Teaching and Learning across KS3
