Primary Global Footprint Webquests

This is a collection of webquests developed by the Humanities Education Centre for primary schools as part of a set of sessions with years 5 and 6, to research global issues and to create powerpoints, webpages, animations and video on their work. Get your school council, with the whole school, exploring what it does, why and how. At the same time exploring children's rights and government.

Fair Trade and the Tropical Rainforests

Research how Fair Trade foods are helping our environment.

Local Democracy, Sustainability and Fair Trade

Learn about the Mayor, town hall, the borough and fair trade. There is a teachers support pack on organising a class town hall visit.

School Councils Making a Fairtrade Policy

What is the voice of your children? What do they think about local and global issues? What drives the actions and projects of the school council?

Citizenship Ceremony

Preparation work for your class to visit and take part in a local citizenship ceremony, welcoming new citizens and celebrating your students view of citizenship.

Create an Interactive Map about Whitechapel

Research five different sites: the Mosque, Idea Store, Sainsburys, tube station... and create an interactive map. Activity includes research websites and materials, map templates and teacher advice. Based on work with Redlands Primary School.
