Admissions Policy We admit 200 pupils to Year 7 each year. In 2005 there were 861 applications, of which 517 were either first or second preference. This was the first year of the new application and admissions system and offers were made to 210 pupils of which 10 have statement of special educational need, 1 for special circumstances, 66 are siblings of pupils at the school and 133 attend Link schools. Parents of prospective pupils should be aware that in 2005 there were many more applications than places available and that no places were offered solely on the basis of distance from the school. The Link schools for 2006 will be: Arcdeacon Cambridge’s CE, Chase Bridge, Isleworth Blue School (Hounslow), Ivybridge School (Hounslow), St Mary’s CE, St Stephens CE and Worple Primary (Hounslow). If there are more applicants than places, priority will be given as follows: • Children with a statement of special educational need that specifies Orleans Park School as the placement school.
• Children in public care.
• Children who have a brother or sister in attendance at the school at the time of admission.
• Children who attend a link primary school.
• Children living closest to the school, judged on the basis of the shortest safe walking distance. Detailed notes, including information about exceptional circumstances are included on a separate sheet with the Prospectus. Full details of the admissions procedure can be found in the “Admissions to Secondary School” booklet produced by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Applicants for the 2007/2008 Year 7 intake will be able to apply online application via their home borough's website. Richmond upon Thames residents will be able to access the online application function via the Richmond Borough website by clicking HERE. Tours of the school, other than on open days, conducted by a senior member of staff, can be made by prior arrangement. Please telephone the school to arrange a guided tour.
