In line with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice 2001, Oaks Park School defines special educational needs as a student who has significantly greater difficulty in learning or an approach to learning than the majority of children of the same age.

The positive ethos of Oaks Park High School places a central importance on creating a supportive environment in which each student feels secure and valued. Students on the SEN List learn and achieve together with the other students as part of the school community.
