We encourage children to eat in a calm atmosphere and adhere to our Golden Rules in the dining hall. School lunches are cooked on the premises by a catering company contracted by the local education authority. There is a varied menu which meets national nutritional standards and provides a vegetarian as well as a Halal alternative, and we try and help children choose healthy balanced meals. The food is mostly organic and is home cooked.

Children whose parents are receiving the Income Based Job Seeker's Allowance are entitled to a free school lunch each day. Application forms are available in the office.

Parents can choose to provide their child with a packed lunch. As we try to teach children about healthy living and encourage a healthy diet, children are not allowed to bring fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate into school as these are bad for their teeth and provide little nutritional value. We also discourage crisps, for the same reason.

Water in class

Recent research has shown that children and adults concentrate better when they drink water frequently. Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school each day to keep in class.
