Go Back Friday - the last day Today started unlike any other - a message to say that the network was down! How was Ken going to take his Year 5 'Stop-frame animation' lesson in the ICT suite without a network? Being very non-techy, I have no idea how - but I and the teacher managed to log on locally and access the digiblue software while Ken started the lesson. Thank goodness we had saved everything to CD before we came out here. They loved Wallace and Gromit and it gave them just the right inspiration to start experimenting with the toys they had brought in from home. Watch out Aardman Animations is all I can say! Having done my bit of techy support I then worked with the English, Music and Art Secondary teachers to look at how they could develop their use of Interactive Whiteboards in their lessons. They were all particularly keen on their students having access to the software for presentation purposes. All too soon our time ran out and the day was very rapidly coming to an end. Our Monday INSET now seemed a life time away and we had started to feel part of the school. Everyone had made us so welcome. The afternoon finished with a meeting with Renee, the Deputy and Head Teacher discussing the impact of our training and work and also ICT Development in the school. We introduced them to the SRF and are looking forward to forging links between them and our schools in Newham. We left at the end of the day feeling very pleased with the work we had done and the knowledge that the weeks of planning and preparation had paid off. Plus a school shirt, sticker and book about Texas as souvenirs! The evening was rounded off at Chili's with a couple of frozen Margharitas and plenty of Texan food. Go Back
