Bishop Gilpin Church of England Primary School

Bishop Gilpin Church of England Primary School is a very popular and successful school at an exciting time in its history. We are extremely proud of our pupils and staff and hope you join with us in celebrating our recent successes.

Teachers and pupils together are shaping Bishop Gilpin to meet the needs to children in the 21st century. We provide a sound and enriching education, the foundation for a lifetime of learning. At the same time we strive to retain the school's distinctiveness, its ethos, character, friendliness, and sense of purpose.

SATS achievement

For the second consecutive year our school came top out of all Merton primary schools based on our Y6 KS2 SATs results last summer. We also had a high number of children achieving a level 5 which is above the national expectation for 11 year olds.

OFSTED Success

Following our recent OFSTED inspection our school has been accredited as “Outstanding” in all of the five areas that were inspected, receiving grade 1 in each of the sub sections.  The report starts with, “Bishop Gilpin is an outstanding school where children blossom both academically and personally”.  To read the report in full please follow the link.
