ILLNESS

Please keep your child at home if they are unwell. The school needs to know the reason for your child's absence, particularly if an infectious illness is involved. After sickness or diarrhoea, there must be a clear 24 hours before the child returns to school.

MEDICINES

It may be necessary for some children to have medicines in school for long term treatment e.g. epilepsy, asthma etc. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide drugs in a suitable container, which is clearly labelled with the child’s name and directions for administration. The medication will be stored in the Medical Room in the cupboard. Parents who wish their child to receive long term treatment should see the Headteacher first. Antibiotics are not normally given at school, as it is usually possible to avoid the need for a mid-day dose.
