Using the on-line diaries at the end of a unit

The last lesson of each unit is designed to help pupils to reflect on how effective they have been as a learner. The following are some suggestions for managing this lesson:

  • Teacher briefly explains to pupils that in this lesson they are going to reflect on the way they learn and to record their progress.
  • Teacher asks pupils to spend a few minutes re-reading the feedback from the teacher
  • Teacher groups pupils into pairs to discuss the evaluative questions
  • Pupils complete the evaluative questions in the on-line diary
  • While pupils are working teacher moves round the room looking talking to pupils about their progress and alerting them to the ICT attainment target level they have reached during the unit. Pupils then complete their attainment target level on the on ‘student’ page.

The pupil’s on-line diary for this unit is then complete.
