At St. Helen’s school we aim to accompany one another on our individual faith journerys, helping each other to live out the gospel values. The values of the gospel, the love of God and of our neighbour should be found in every aspect of the school’s life. In practice, this means that the school will have a rich liturgical provision, good interpersonal relations between pupils and staff, a commitment to justice, a fostering of the talents of the whole school community and a full programme of caring for and serving those who have particular needs, both within the school’s immediate community and those who are outside it and meeting the challenges of a culturally and racially diverse society. We hope to achieve these aims by: Making prayer, worship and liturgy real educational experiences, and by contributing successfully to the development of the faith of each individual in the school community. Creating a dynamic interaction between home, parish and school which provides preparation for the pupil's entry into the wider community. Ensuring that the pupils' experiences of relationships within the school have a formative and significant influence on their understanding of all relationships. Ensuring that the curriculum provides a Catholic Christian setting in which children can grow in understanding and in acquisition of skills, attitudes and values. Showing concern in a school which looks to Christ for the basis of its existence, for all. |
