Podcast Project
I based three weeks of literacy around the book, A New House for Mouse. I thought this podcast project would be a good opportunity for me to use ICT equipment to develop the area of speaking and listening as well as linking into several other areas.
Creating the podcasts covered the foundation stage objectives of:
- Finds out about & identifies the uses of everyday technology & uses information & communication technology & programmable toys to support learning. (K&U)
- talks activities through, reflecting on actions (CLL)
- interacts with others in a variety contexts negotiating plans, taking turns in conversations (CLL)
- speaks clearly with confidence & control showing awareness of listener (CLL)
- Use talk to organise, sequence, & clarify thinking, ideas, feelings, & events, exploring meaning/sounds of new words (CLL)
- Initiates communication with others, w/ greater confidence in more informal contexts (CLL)
- Listens & responds (CLL)
- shows an understanding of elements of stories, main character, sequence of events & openings (CLL)
- retells narrative in correct sequence, drawing on language patterns of stories (CLL)
- Works as part of a group/class taking turns/sharing fairly (PSE)
