Medical Matters We must be notified in writing of any physical disability, previous serious illness or other medical detail which might affect schooling. Children who are ill should be kept at home. All absences must be explained in writing on return to school even if a verbal message has previously been sent. When children are ill during the day we do our best to contact parents and have the children collected. When accidents occur which might need GP or hospital treatment we attempt to contact parents. First Aid matters are usually dealt with by our Welfare Assistant. In exceptional circumstances medicine can be kept and administered in school after discussion with the Headteacher and completion of a Request to Administer Medication form. All medication must be kept in the Welfare Room under supervision. Please try to ensure medical, optician and dental appointments, whenever possible, are not arranged in school time. However, we appreciate that this is not always possible, but it is essential that we are notified prior to any absence for such appointments. Return to home page |
