At Spring Grove we recognise that all children have individual needs and respond to these needs appropriately. We inform parents of any concerns about their child's learning or behaviour at the earliest possible opportunity.

Children with special educational needs are supported as far as is practicable within their own classrooms. We follow a Code of Practice on the identification and assessment of special educational needs. The school has a Special Needs Co-ordinator who works alongside teachers and parents to draw up Individual Educational Plans to directly target the child's needs.

The school liaises with Hounslow's Teaching Support Service, Educational Psychology Service, Social Services and other outside agencies according to each child’s needs. If appropriate, we provide additional support for children with special educational needs through a Special Needs teacher and Classroom Assistants. Pupils may be withdrawn and tutored in small groups.
