School Organisation

Spring Grove Primary School is part of the London Borough of Hounslow, admitting children from 3 to 11 years. We are part of the Connected Learning Zone - an Education Action Zone that involves 9 local schools. It opens up many exciting extra opportunities for our staff and children. Our school has a long and successful history of educating children in the Isleworth area as the school dates back to 1859 when it was founded as Spring Grove National School under the jurisdiction of the Church of England.

The school transferred to its current site in the 1960s. It is now a two storey building, with our Early Years and Infant Departments downstairs and the Junior Department upstairs. Our building allows access for wheelchairs and includes a stair lift.

The children enjoy a hard surface playground, adventure play area, fitness trail and a large field for recreation. Part of the playground is preserved as a quiet area with benches, tables and flower beds. There is also a sun shelter. We have a mature conservation area to the rear of the school. In addition to the main school building there is a mobile classroom which provides Extended Day Care facilities and a quiet place for group teaching. A computer suite was added to the school in 2004.

When children join Spring Grove they are placed in classes with children of the same age range under the guidance of a class teacher and in some cases a Nursery nurse or classroom assistant. However teachers may exchange classes for some sessions to share their expertise.

Each classroom is well equipped, with its own book corner, audio-visual equipment, Interactive Whiteboard and computers. Each area of the curriculum is well resourced.

Children's work is valued and displayed throughout the school. This helps to create a welcoming atmosphere and stresses the importance we place on children's achievements in all areas of the curriculum. The Junior department has a well stocked library and a small study area that children enjoy working in.
