Admission Arrangements

The school is able to admit 45 pupils in Year R (the Reception Department). As this essentially amounts to a 11/2 form entry, there will be a mixture of children from two age groups in some classes. Where this is the case a child's progress is not affected in any way, because as each child is viewed as an individual. I line with goverment requirements all classes in Yr R, Yr 1 and Yr 2 will be kept to 30 children. We have opted to employ an extra teacher in Reception in order to split this year group into 23 and 22 children.

Over-subscription Criteria

Where there are more applications for places than number of places available, places will be offered according to the following order of priority.

  1. Looked after children form Catholic families who are resident in the parish of Corpus Christi, Collier Row, Romford, Essex.
  2. Catholic children of practising Catholic families who are resident in the parish of Corpus Christi, Collier Row, Romford, Essex.
  3. Children of other practising Catholic families.
  4. Children of Catholic families.
  5. Children of Catechumens, resident in the parish of Copus Christi, Collier Row, Romford, Essex.

  9. Children of other faiths whose parents are in sypathy with the aims and ethos of the school and whose application is supported by a religious leader.
  10. Any other applicants

Where the offer of places to all the applicants in any of the categories listed would lead to over-subscription, the following provisions will be applied.

  • The attendance of a brother or sister at the school, at the time of enrolment, will increase the priority of an application within each category.
