What is the PSA?

Well, in answer to your question, the PSA or Parent School Association is a many headed beast whose main objective is to hang around the darker recesses of the playground and pounce on unsuspecting parents and guardians in its insatiable lust for money.

Actually it’s a committee made up staff and parents, some who have been at school for donkeys years and some who have just started, but all who want to play an active part in the Tetherdown community.

The members are proposed, seconded and voted in at the start of each autumn term. They meet six times a year to organise a whole bunch of fundraising activities, which raise money for the enhancement of school life beyond the curriculum.

The fruits of the PSA’s labours can be found in theatrical events such as the Christmas trip to the Chicken Shed panto and the visit by the English Pocket Opera. It has also purchased digital cameras, teaching aids, playground equipment, overhead projectors and vital books.

Please feel free to buttonhole us at the school gates, the checkout at Sainsburys or wherever, about anything to do with the PSA (where to direct funds or fundraising ideas, for example), or just for a nice chat.

We are: Tom Fenner, Jo Maude, Ella Colley, Lucinda Cooper, Ashley Gordon, Claire Cantor-Bollack, Wendy Meteyard-Winful, Laurence Wilson, Karen Garvin, Emma Cohen and Luciano Antoniazzi.

Alternatively give me a call on 07815 050 285 or Jo on 0208 444 4192, or email us at: tom.fenner@idnetfreemail.co.uk - joanna.maude@btinternet.com

Best wishes

Tom and Jo
