David Beckham Football Academy

On Thursday 1st November, 14 of our Year 6 children were invited to The David Beckham Football Academy in Greenwich. What a fantastic day we all had!!!

 This was the main walkway as we entered the Academy. There were pairs of football boots and the walls were covered with football shirts, mostly belonging to David Beckham himself but also belonging to Thiery Henry, Ronaldo and the England legend that is Bobby Moore.

We have been celebrating Black History Month.

2006-2007 Tag Rugby Tournament

Last year the Y6 Girls' Team were the Haringey Winners!

They competed in the Family Round and finished first. After competing against more schools in the finals, the girls were only beaten once!!

The final was played against Coleridge Primary School, the only team that our girls were beaten by in the earlier round. By now our team had grown in confidence and skill and were a force to be reckoned with. We won the final 3-1, with excellent tries scored by Roshelle and 2 scored by Shanice. The whole team played with determination and skill. Their behaviour and sportsmanship was excellent. They all should be very proud of themselves. WELL DONE!

2006-2007 Easter Egg Competition

Every year we make and decorate eggs at home to celebrate Easter. This year the judges had a tough time deciding upon the winners.

Here are some of the eggs that entered the competition.

 2006-2007 Year 6 Mixed Netball

Earlier in April our mixed netball team had competed in and finished as runners up in the Gladesmore Family Mixed Netball Tournament. This week we took part in the Borough Finals, which were held at Gladesmore School. We played three matches in the pool stage of the competition. We were beaten in our first match 1-0 by Campsbourne Blue. The next two matches against Lea Valley and Lordship Lane we drew 0-0. We played with real skill and tried our hardest to qualify to the semi-finals.

We didnt qualify but we knew we had played the best netball we could. Our team played as a team co-operating and supporting each other throughout the tournament. Well done to them and congratulations for making it to the finals!!!
