Using Alphasmarts. This is a PowerPoint presentation which could be used either for adults wanting to learn the basics, or with pupils starting to use Alphasmarts for the first time.

 

Lesson ideas

These are adapted from the Alphasmart monthly Newsletter and are free. You can subscribe to the Newsletter from the Alphasmart website. There is no subscription fee. These ideas have been submitted by practising teachers, mostly from the USA.

Most of these lessons can be used with either Alphasmarts or Danas.

Resources to use immediately

The following two sheets contain single sentences with the capital letters and full stops missing. Download to an Alphasmart and the pupil can do this activity on the Alphasmart:

The following sheets contain stories in paragraphs that need capital letters added, so are suitable for Key Stage 2. As above, download the text straight to the Alphasmarts and the pupil can complete the task on the Alphasmart directly. When they've finished:

Print out the corrected version and they can draw a picture to go with it?
