Learning Mentors

At Rockliffe Manor we are fortunate in having two Learning Mentors, Mrs Wright and Mrs Rendall. They work in and out of the classrooms both with individual children and small groups.

They aim to support children who may be under achieving for many reasons. They work with the children, their parent/carer and teacher to help them enjoy school, thus making learning easier.

Support from home is very important to a child and school encourages regular contact betwen our Learning Mentors and parents/carers.

Their work involves:

Improving - confidence and self esteem, attendance and punctuality, classroom/playground behaviour, concentration levels

Developing - social skills and friendships

Addressing concerns regarding - medical and/or physical needs, Year 6 transition to Secondary school

Our Learning Mentors are available in the playground to discuss concerns before and after school and during school hours by pre-arranged appointments. Please telephone or call in to the school office to make an appointment.
