Message from Amanda Dennison, Head Teacher:

Dear Parents / carers,

Our value this month is ‘Health and Well Being’ I hope you are all looking after yourselves! We have had a great start to the new half term with the launch of our professionally published school poetry book called ‘I’m here’ which all the children contributed to. We have had fantastic class performances of the poems and it was great to welcome Chris Powling the author who has supported us, to our special assembly.

Later on this week we will be supporting ‘Children in Need’ by having a ‘Crazy Head’ day…watch out for the photographs!

Lots of dates for the lead up to Christmas can be found on our November Newsletter.

Take Care

Amanda Dennison - Headteacher

We all really enjoyed celebrating Black History Month in October. We participated in a wide range of cross-cultural activities under the banner of "Everyone Has Roots". These activities included cross-keystage workshops, African drumming workshops, an international food fair, special assemblies, looking at aspects of black history in our literacy lessons (e.g. through the work of black authors) and talks by special visitors.

Year 4 Hokusai made up a rap and performed in our Good News assembly on 24th October. You can read the rap here and also hear a short snippet of them performing it.
