Nursery admissions

The nursery classes cater for children aged 3 and 4. We aim to keep a balanced intake of both ages. You can put your child’s name on our waiting list once they have turned 2. The length of time on our waiting list does not affect decisions about entry. Please make sure you give us full information about your children, especially if you want us to consider an early place in the nursery.

Admissions to main school

Children start in reception classes during the term in which they will be 5. There is no automatic transfer from nursery to reception, but staff in the nursery will make sure that you receive an application form at the right time. We currently have admission to reception at the beginning of each school term.

If you are transferring from one school to another, please phone for an appointment. If the year group you apply for is full you will be told at the time of your appointment. You do have the right to appeal and the head teacher will explain how to do this.

Visits to the school are welcome – please phone or call in to arrange this.

Moving school

If you move away from the school area please come and see the head teacher as soon as possible. We will need the name of your children’s new school so that we can forward school records and help your children’s new teachers.

Some schools request transfer forms before accepting new children onto their roll.
