The Greenwich CPD Forum

This provides an opportunity for CPD Co-ordinators to receive updates on local and national CPD initiatives and to discuss live CPD issues. We have had speakers on a range of topical issues ranging from Chartered London Teaching Status, Teachers’ TV and the Fast Track Teaching Scheme. We have also looked at London’s Learning, the comprehensive CPD resource for London Schools, written by staff in London Schools.

The next meeting for the CPD Co-ordinators will be on June 21st at 4.30pm at the PDC and will focus on the evaluation of the impact of CPD.

CPD Steering Group

This group meets on a regular basis to steer the central CPD programme, and ensure Greenwich schools are updated on national and local CPD initiatives.  We have representation from schools, LA officers and the Unions.

We are seeking to enhance the present current group with more representation from schools. So, if you are a Headteacher or a CPD co-ordinator who would be interested please contact Maggie Croxford on mcroxford.greenwich@lgfl.net or 020 8859-8755.

The next meeting will focus on rewriting the CPD Policy in the light of the Children's Services Workforce Strategy.

LSA CPD Steering Group

This group is concerned with developing the CPD programme for LSAs and Learning Mentors.  It has established a broad learning network.  Members include LA officers, school representatives, Greenwich Community College and Greenwich University.  A training development framework has been established with progression routes identified from induction, through to NVQ L 2 & 3, through to foundation degree.

HLTA

Briefings are organised at the PDC termly and anyone with an interest in the HLTA programme is welcome to attend.  Candidates embark on a 3 day preparation for assessment route, or alternatively, a short training route.

Refurbishment of 503
