In English we are looking at the story of Odysseus and other myths and legends.  The children will be writing their own myths, concentrating on setting and character.  We will also be looking at speech marks, suffixes, connectives and sentence structure.
Reading records will be checked every morning and therefore must be brought in daily. 
Finally we are going to use our reading to help our writing and improve our work.

 

This term’s Maths will cover describing the methods that we use; ordering whole numbers to 1000 and partitioning 3-digit numbers to add effectively.
We will also be learning our 2,3,4,5,6 & 10 times tables and the corresponding division facts.
Other areas that we will be learning include knowing number pairs that total 100, mentally adding or subtracting combinations of one-digit and two-digit numbers, solving word problems, carrying out inverse operations as well as estimating.
Lastly we will be drawing, describing and visualing 2D and 3D shapes.

 

 

In P.E. we will be playing invasion games.  We will also be improving ours and others performances, using different equipment and varying tactics whilst playing different games.
A lot of children are not bringing in suitable clothing for PE. Please could your children please bring in a full, warm PE kit on a Monday and take it home on a Friday.
 
R.E. this term will be studying the meaning of Faith and its importance in our lives.
 

We will become philosophers and will be forming our own opinions on different topics, explaining them clearly and respecting others’ opinions. 

In ICT we will be inputting data and creating tables and graphs.

Our main art focus this term is tie dye, where we will be making a patterned cloak.  We will also be using papier mache alongside our drawing and painting.

 

Homework will be given out on a Friday and is due in on the following Wednesday.  
In 3B, spellings will be given to children every Monday and will be tested the following Monday.
In 3H, spellings will be given to children every Friday and will be tested the following Wednesday.
