Anti-bullying Week

Anti-bullying week at West Twyford was thought-provoking, challenging and informative.

Children did paintings, explored websites, wrote poems and Class 3 presented a challenging assembly.

What if?

What if one person had said, 'Stop'?

it would all have changed.

No matter how long ago it was,

that picture is still in my head.

If only Pauline would come back after a week,

But she did not, and we never saw her again.

But I still feel guilty about it.

I missed her but there is nothing I can do.

Would the bully like it?

What if it was the other way around?

What if one person had said, 'Stop'?

by Neven and Monna, Y4

On his way to school
A poor boy is approached
The bully offered friendship
But pranked him and threw his stuff.

The bully laughed,
The other cried, with hurt feelings,
‘I thought you are my friend,’
The bully laughed again.

At home, ‘How was your day?’
The answer, ‘Fine’ said rudely.
Dad and Mum swore,
He learned the words, kept swearing too.

Towards home next day, the bully spoke,
‘Sorry – ha, ha, NOT’ and swearing,
Hitting and smearing muddy shoes,
He laughed but the poor boy cried.

Friends of the poor boy told at school,
Sorted wisely, the bully stops.

Now he is happy.

Reception thought about how our faces show our feelings when people are kind or unkind.
