The Cool Reads Club will meet on the first Monday in a month in the library. The next meeting will be on 16th April 2007. Bring some ideas about books you would like us to read as a group!

Recommendations for year 5 and 6

Our FIRST RECOMMENDATION is from Zach Hallett: CLICK HERE TO READ ZACH'S COOL REVIEW!	In December we will be reading horror books from the Goosebumps series!	In January we will all be reading the same book...I wonder what our discussion will be like!! Will we be able to convince you to pick up the book and read it? January's recommended read is "Silver Fin" by Charlie Higson. Read all about it here! This book is now available to read in the school reading scheme - level 16+
We decided to read books by Jacqueline Wilson in November. . Read "Tiger Lily's" ace review of Vicky Angel here! We all took a book by Jacqueline Wilson this month!	February's great read was "Private Peaceful" by Michael Morpurgo - check out the Cool Reads Club reviews of this book by clicking here! This book was unianimously voted 10 out of 10- it really is a terrific read! This book is now available to read in the school library reading scheme - level 16.	In March we will be reviewing "The Encyclopedia of the Unexplained" by Judy Allen This is a sci-fi book that looks at all things unexplained!...It's a great book to dip in and out of.

Click here There were definitely mixed reviews about this book! Mrs Ewart and Amyna enjoyed it though! We recommended this book as a free reader. It's in the reading scheme now!	In May we reviewed the latest novel by Antony Horowitz called "NIGHT RISE!" This book was fantastic and features in our top two novels this year! If you want excitement, suspense and action then this is your book! Check out our review here!
In June we read "The Legend of the Worst Boy in the World" by Eoin Colfer. This book had mixed reviews, but was an easy read and quite funny at times! We liked the moral at the end. In July we will be reading our last book in the Cool Reads club - The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler by Gene Kemp. This is a favourite of Mrs Ewart and Ms Thomas! Will the Cool Read Reviewers like it also?	In September the Cool Reads Club continues! All new members welcome to join - year 5 and 6 please! Our first read next year is "Darkside" by Tom Becker! Looks like it could be a riveting read!
