ICT Mark

On Friday 30th March assessors visited Mayfield and awarded the school an ICT Mark as recognition for the excellent practice going on throughout the school.

Areas of strength / outstanding practice identified:

 Inspirational leadership and management of ICT from the Head teacher and ICT coordinator are a clear strength of the school. The HT & the ICT subject leader have established a culture of learning among both staff and pupils in which ICT is viewed as an innovative tool to enrich learning. A very supportive and collegiate environment has been nurtured in which new initiatives are approached with enthusiasm and a determination to impact on learning.

 One strength is the extent to which ICT is embedded across the curriculum and is used to enrich, enhance and empower learning throughout the school. This is particularly evident in the way that digital imaging and the use of digital video is used in several subjects.

 The school’s learning platform [website] is an example of outstanding practice and a model for other schools. There is a wealth and breadth of information available, and an impressive showcase of children’s work. The effect of this is to extend learning beyond the school for many pupils and their families.
