Health and Welfare at Hathawaythe see-saw

The school Nurse visits the school on a regular basis to carry out health checks and medicals.

A number of our staff are trained First Aiders.  These members of staff see children who have had an accident or are feeling ill.  If it is thought that a child needs further medical help or is unfit to be in school, then parents are notified immediately.

Medicines should not be brought to school.  In certain circumstances medicines can be given by a member of staff if a consent form has been completed and agreed by the Headteacher.

Emergency Contact with Parents

Parents are requested to supply the school with an up-to-date home address and telephone number and also details of where they can be contacted when at work.  You should also nominate someone else as a contact if there are times when you are unavailable.

It is most important that this information is accurate and up-to-date.  Please notify the school office of any changes of address/telephone numbers.

We have a duty to ensure that our children are not at risk from any abuse.  We will investigate any physical injury until we are satisfied that the cause was accidental.

If we suspect any form of abuse we shall report our concern to Social Services.  Your child's safety and well being are our first priority.

Safety

Regular fire drills are held each term to make children familiar with essential safety procedures.  Regualr health and safety inspections are also made throughout the school grounds and buildings.
