Hathaway Primary Philosophy

We are committed to working in partnership to provide high quality education and equal opportunities to all our children.

We aim to provide a broad, balanced curriculum and a stimulating, safe environment through which our children maximise their talents and abilities, develop pride in their achievement and feel happy, confident and secure.

School Aims

We want children to achieve the highest possible standards, to be enthusiastic about learning and to develop a positive image of themselves as learners.  We help them to develop the skills they need to investigate, make sense of and communicate with the world around them.  We promote positive attitudes to work and establish sound work habits. 

We want to foster in our pupils a sense of resposibility for their actions and a positive self-image.  We expect all members of the school community to act with courtesy and consideration towards others at all times.  It is our belief that praise and recognition of good behaviour, effort and achievement promotes a positive school ethos in which we all feel valued, confident and secure.  We believe this will enable the children to develop as responsible adults.

We want to ensure that all individuals within this school community are valued and have the opportunity to develop their full potential within a context of mutual respect, justice and fairness.
