Consultation on Regulations and Guidance on Management Committees for Pupil Referral Units

This area of the web site is reserved for information relating to the Pupil Referral Units. It is hoped to build up a bank of information that will be of assistance to the management committees.

The curriculum and admission policies for PRUs have recently been updated (August 2006). To view the revised policies see the links on the left of this page.

Two documents published by the DfES in 2005 provide useful guidance for the development and monitoring of PRUs and Alternative Provision.

A training session for PRU Advisory Commiittees was held on Wednesday 23rd March 2006 copies of the training materials are below:

The DfES launched in December a consultation on Regulations and Guidance on Management Committees for Pupil Referral Units. The consultation closes on 14th March 2007. Anybody with an interest in PRUs is recommended to view the documents and let the DfES have their comments.
