Welcome to Year 3

Welcome to Woodpeckers

In year three we will continue to work on improving the children’s level of independence and encourage them to make sense of everything that they do.

Throughout the year, Woodpeckers will be covering a range of interesting topics to extend their learning.  We have started the year with our Ancient Egypt topic, which so far is proving to be a great success - finding out about the River Nile, Pharoahs, pyramids and daily life.  The children are currently preparing their collars and head dresses for our Ancient Egyptian day on th 14th October 2008.  Look out for the pictures!

In science we are finding out about teeth and eating, including the different food groups. We have also started an investigation to find out what could happen to our teeth if we have too many sugary or acidic drinks.  Watch out for the results - they're quite shocking!
