Community Links

The school recognises that it plays an important part in the life of Selsdon Vale and the surrounding areas, and it is our aim to serve the local community.  We strongly believe that links with the community make a significant contribution to pupils' attainment and personal development.  Links are encouraged that provide a range of activities to foster a greater understanding of society and citizenship.

Throughout the year the school supports a number of charities.  Charities that have benefitted recently include the RNLI, the British Legion Poppy Appeal, The British Heart Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Lepra Charity.

Children visit a range of local venues to enhance their understanding of the curriculum such as local places of worship, parks, shops and libraries.  The children are visited by members of the Police Force and Road Safety Officers to ensure that they have an understanding of being safe in the local community.

Students from local schools and colleges spend time at Greenvale Primary on work experience or community related projects.  People from the local community are welcomed into school to help with various activities.

We welcome contact with ex-pupils and are always keen to follow their progress.
