Every Child Matters
This booklet explores; the place of Every Child Matters as a fundamental part of the curriculum; why each outcome is important and its implications for curriculum design the type of learning experiences that schools can design to meet each outcome.
Throughout, examples from schools show Every Child Matters in action. Longer case studies at the end of the booklet illustrate how some schools are designing learning experiences to achieve all the outcomes and taking a whole-school approach to Every Child Matters.

New Secondary National Curriculum
Launch
On 12th July the QCA launched a new Secondary National Curriculum. "The new programmes of study," we are informed by the QCA website, "have been designed to give teachers a less prescriptive, more flexible framework for teaching, creating more scope to tailor the curriculum to meet the needs of each individual student."

Chief Executive Ken Boston's speech at the launch of the Secondary National curriculum.
