Raising Attainment Plan
The key instrument for raising attainment focused on the classroom where targetted action includes:
- specific improvements in pupil outcomes
- developments in learning and teaching
- improvements in implementation of NLS
- changes to whole school provision including L&M
A RAP is a focused document that describes how the use of additional resources linked to specific actions (processes) will raise attainment and accelerate progress.
Consistent with a conventional SDP with clear objectives linked to success criteria which are measureable and with an evaluation strategy to measure change and determine success.
Monitoring is detailed and sets out expectations that the actions required to secure objectives are carried out to a given timeplan.
Principles
- Success criteria derive from objectives not actions and relate to outcomes not the quality of action
- Success criteria are measureable with evaluation tools that measure quantity or quality of action
- Actions define processes not activities for individuals
- Monitoring ensures processes have happened and that evaluation can take place when required
