GOSPEL OAK -Extended Schools
Last term Granada Anglia made a programme about extended schools, in other words clubs and other extra-curricular activities. They asked to make the programme at Gospel Oak because they were unable to find another school in the country with so many clubs. The programme will be shown on Teachers' TV later in the autumn but you don't have to wait until then as you can watch it here on the school web site. Many of the children and staff, and also some parents are featured in the programme.
All 5 downloads are approximately 10 Mb.

If your school has not adopted the LMLE then arguably you can't effectively scaffold homework and support online learning for consolidation beyond the school day...
Many of your colleagues are doing this now...
They are associating current layered targets for maths with specific learning opportunities on the Internet supported by forums in their class portal where pupils can raise issues and discuss their learning. They are scaffolding guided reading groups with forums in which children discuss their reading. Teachers use this in class to inform classroom discussion.
You don't need fancy research to tell you the likely impact that this can have on progress...
YOUR Class is missing out!!!
Visit the LGfL LMLE page and make the case now...

Standard Funds support for 2008-09
The devolved funding to support DCFS training priorities is this year to support the 'Assessment for Learning' Strategy. After the Conferences above Schools will receive 8, 11 or 14 days supply cover (DCFS rate of £150 per day) – according to school size using the same criteria as for SIS SLA subscription. The cover should be used to support attendance at training, facilitate in school moderation sessions and other activities that support development of AfL.
