Philosophy for Camden
What is Philosophy for Camden?
The principal aim of P4C is to develop critical and creative thinking in young people (especially, but not solely, Gifted & Talented pupils). This is a technique teachers can use across the curriculum to help raise standards of articulacy through what are known as “Enquiries”. These class discussion activities have been shown to improve thinking skills, speaking and listening, self-motivation and ownership of learning*. Teacher and students collaborate to develop mutual understanding of the material, personal and ethical issues which underpin the subjects they learn and the lives they lead.
