Work Experience
Work Experience is a government scheme where a student in Year 10 or above in a school has a placement on an employer's premises in which the student carries out a particular task or duty, more or less as would an employee, but with an emphasis on the learning aspects of the experience.' (DfES, 1996). To find out more about work experence placement, please click here
Mentoring
We can train business volunteers to work as mentors to diverse sets of students. We facilitate the volunteer application process and CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) clearance check. We prepare the students for the arrival of their mentor and help set out clear expectations from all parties.
Employability skills
Using trained business role models we can help set up and run workshops and events in schools to help improve presentation techniques, CV writing and interview skills in students.
Employer Involvement
We can run conferences and workshops where young people are able to learn about the world of work and what skills and qualifications are needed to get where they want to be.
Curriculum support
We can train business volunteers to work as classroom assistants, or after school club facilitators. We can also help facilitate site visits to businesses so students can see how the subjects they are studying relate to work.
Working with the EBP businesses will be able to connect with the local community, contribute to corporate social responsibility targets, develop employees' skills, improve staff retention and make a real difference to young people’s lives.
