Remodelling is an opportunity to reassess the work and role of everyone involved in educating young people. This process has the potential to significantly improve pupils' learning opportunities and standards of achievement. Schools are under pressure to raise standards and tackle workload whilst at the same time dealing with a considerable number of other pressures.

Remodelling has arisen in response to a demand from the teaching profession for the workload issues to be addressed at a national level.

Remodelling can be understood as falling into two strands, the National Agreement (statutory) and the Remodelling Process (School Based Change Process).
