I am sure that many of
you are aware of the dramatic changes over the year in opportunities for the
children at Oakington to be involved in sport at school. We are now able to offer clubs before and
after school and at lunch time for a variety of age groups and sporting
activities.
What
have we achieved? This is a very prestigious award given to
schools in recognition of their commitment and provision of sport. Many schools
are only awarded an active mark but we were awarded Gold and this was before
the changes that have taken place this year!

It is always heartening
to see parents coming to competitions to encourage and support their
child. If you are ever able to help
supervise children at such events please contact me to reserve your space on
the mini-bus.
As you can see, we have had great success in sport, over the year. But this is only one aspect of measurable success that we have achieved. We are seeing more children becoming actively involved in many of the clubs but my goal is to see all the children being engaged in sport at some level. You can help by encouraging your child to becoming more active and involved in a club. Watch out for club information when we return in September.
