Aims

The following aims apply to our marking policy:

  • To identify the child’s success against the learning objective.
  • To assess the child’s level of understanding.
  • To highlight the child’s next step/target.
  • To value the child’s work through meaningful and consistent feedback.
  • To identify children’s achievements against Statutory Assessments and National Expectations.

Policy

  • Where possible work will be reviewed directly with the child.
  • Feedback will include a positive comment, whether written or oral, and will be constructive, identifying the next step and setting targets for the future.
  • Marking will relate directly to the learning objective.
  • Children will be made aware of the success criteria, relating to the learning objective at the beginning of the lesson.
  • Work samples will be provided to curriculum co-ordinators, termly, to enable marking to be monitored.

Presentation
