Welcome to Whitefield

Whitefield School is a Specialist Sports College which was praised by a very positive HMI subject inspection at the end of 2006. Our 2005 Ofsted inspection of the whole school identified us a a good school with significant outstanding features.

Whitefield is a very friendly school and we value the positive relationships and warm feelings that visitors to the school comment on. All the teachers at Whitefield are university graduates in the subject they teach and the governors and I are very careful about ensuring that we appoint staff who are of the quality we require. In that way we can maintain the standards we have set.

Our fundamental belief is that students attend school to learn and we organise our school to maximise that learning for all our students.

We have high expectations of our students; we insist on good and polite behaviour; but most of all we want students to succeed academically. Examination success is very important as this provides our students with improved future choices.

We have a curriculum that meets all the requirements of the National Curriculum plus the advantages of an additional £100,000 a year, from having specialist status, to spend on providing high quality sporting experiences.

You may know that we host The Football Academy, but you might not know that we will be extending our quality training to a range of other sports at elite level.
