Copthall school is one of Justin Craig’s centres for Easter Revision and this certainly brings financial benefits to us during the school holidays. However, it is the learning partnership which is of potentially greater value to our students. Craig Halsall, Managing Director of Justin Craig, has expressed his passion and commitment to supporting our students in many ways throughout the year. The following is a brief outline of some approaches to learning and revision that Justin Craig are using this year to support our students.
- Examstutor – a premium on line learning resources offered free of charge by Justin Craig for all Copthall students. Key highlights of the site include – the ‘study room’ for topic notes; ‘Exam Hall’ for identifying past exam questions, answers and mark schemes for specific topics; ‘Podtutor’ for downloading revise resources to psps, mobile phones and many other mobile devices; ‘Research Watch’ a superb resource for identifying all the latest topical news related to topics within each subject; a great way of keeping up to date with what’s happening in the real world.
- Revision Guide – A free copy of our revision guide for all students. A hard copy of this will be distributed to all students together with our brochure shortly. It’s a useful guide containing many top tips for effective revision which are usefully all contained within the booklet, which should encourage students to encourage best practice.
- Apple i-pod touch – The back page of the revision guide contains details of a competition for a monthly draw to win the latest Apple I pod worth nearly £300 {it’s an incentive not to lose the revision guide}
- Video Competition – A fantastic and very exciting competition inviting students to produce a 30 – 60 second advertisement promoting the importance of revision. There will be a golden globe night with media experts when the winner will be selected. The winner will receive £500 cash and the school at which the student attends will win IT or recording equipment. The competition is envisaged to fit well into a media curriculum or equally as an exciting extra curricular activity. Students simply need to register to enter the competition via our website. There is a big buzz about the competition and should attract a lot of interest.
