The one-stop answer to all your ICT support needs. The main offering to your school is a discounted ‘ Whole School ’ service which will cover all aspects of your ICT support, items 1 to 3 below.

We will also continue to offer the discrete packages, which you can buy separately.

1. CURRICULM ICT SUPPORT SERVICE

  • This includes: Repairs and Maintenance
  • ICT first line support helpline number
  • Visits to your school to fix ICT and AVA problems**
  • Repairs where viable (up to £150 for parts, £50 for televisions and laser printers, £30 for Deskjet printers) to approved equipment*
  • Advice on procuring, installing and configuring ICT equipment; access to favourable rates Loan of equipment, as available, including PA system and Data Projectors
Internet configuration and advice on LGfL access & support Antivirus software support, Norton and Sophos
  • Advice on all aspects of ICT, including LGfL, curriculum software, PCs, networks, interactive whiteboards etc
  • Free exchange of some equipment, e.g. broken mouse or keyboard

*Major repairs to monitors are excluded but monitor swap is offered when available **Please note that most interactive whiteboards are under warranty for three years from purchase, therefore whiteboards are not covered. We will develop a repair and support service during that period.

2. SCHOOL OFFICE ICT SUPPORT SERVICE

This service provides support for the RM Key Solutions administrative environment.Repairs and Maintenance

  • ICT first line support helpline number
  • Visits to your school to fix ICT problems on your approved administration equipment
  • Support for your administrative servers
  • Advice on procuring, installing and configuring administrative ICT equipment
Antivirus software support - Norton and Sophos
  • Internet configuration and advice on LGfL access and support
  • On-site Integris training
RM Key Solutions and Microsoft
  • Advantageous licensing arrangement for RM
  • Advice, trouble-shooting, upgrades and fixes
  • User Group meetings
  • Support for PLASC and other returns
  • Microsoft Office – improvements to your office system use
  • Provision of upgrades for your computer at favourable rates
  • Installing additional Key Solution modules ie. RM Finance

 

3. PORTABLE ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE TESTING  

Please note that portable electrical appliance testing is a legal requirement. If you do not buy this service from the Council you must use another provider.   This service provides the statutory appliance testing service. It covers all portable electrical appliances in the school.

  • Testing of all portable electrical equipment to legal standards
  • Advice on failed equipment
  • Replacement of plugs and fuses
  • Minor repairs if required

 

4. SCHOOL BASED ICT TECHNICIAN SERVICE

This is a new service providing regular visits by a school based ICT technician to support curriculum and office ICT equipment. This will be offered in weekly or fortnightly 3 hour sessions each term to carry out the following

  • Diagnosis of faults
  • Minor repairs to and routine maintenance of PC related teaching equipment
  • Basic maintenance to ensure that PCs are kept to a high standard
  • Maintenance of ICT documentation, including network diagrams
  • Installation and removal of software
  • Liaison with equipment and service suppliers to solve problems
  • Training for school staff to enable them to undertake routine tasks in-house
  • Advice on potential ICT purchases
  • Consultation, design and implementation on ICT development

  • ICT Project Services: design implementation and maintenance of networks
  • Consumables can be purchased online at corporate rate through partnership suppliers
  • IT hardware including network hardware can be purchased and projector lamps, etc.
  • School Videos copied

  • Follow our advice on the proper use and protection of your systems
  • Let us know any passwords to your systems
  • Provide the licensed CDs for your software, etc, if required.
