Schools Based ICT Technician

 

 

 

 

Schools ICT support service is now providing an additional service for those Primary & Special schools buying the complete schools ICT support service.

This option is tailored to the school requirements, with regular visits by a school based ICT technician to support curriculum and administration ICT equipment throughout each term as detailed below.

  • Regular site visits by a schools ICT support service technician for pre-arranged monthly, fortnightly or weekly sessions to carry out the following.
  • Diagnosis of faults on standalone (for example RM Window-box) and networked (for example RM school-share) PC’s including reporting to schools staff, schools ICT support service and suppliers (if under warranty).
  • Carrying out of minor repairs to and routine maintenance of PC related teaching equipment, for example inkjet printers.
  • Basic computer maintenance to pro actively ensure, that PCs are kept to a high standard, including temporary file removal and hard drive checking.
  • Ensuring all anti-virus and anti spy-ware software is up to date and all PCs have the relevant update patches and software drivers.
  • Maintaining and updating all ICT documentation, including network diagrams
  • Installation and uninstalling of software on standalone and networked PC’s under guidance from schools staff and schools ICT support service.
  • Liaison with equipment and service suppliers to solve problems, for example, contacting internet service provider to check internet operation.
  • Re-configuring of RM window-box PC’s and RM School-share systems to, for example, install a new printer.
  • Provision of school staff training to school staff to enable them to undertake routine tasks “in-house”, for example, verifying a printers cartridge needs changing by executing a self test.
  • Where and when appropriate, collection of equipment and consumables from and delivery of equipment to schools support service at Manorside School .
  • Communication with ICT suppliers and manufacturers regarding warranty issues, general support calls and replacement parts.
  • Advising on compatibility issues with any potential ICT purchases, and general advice on ordering ICT equipment.
