…The Options

We can now offer either Centre as a base from which you can organise your own programme. Available exclusively to organised groups, be it clubs & societies, groups of friends or family, student unions, schools, collages or youth groups.

Both Centres can accomodate groups of up to 30 with most rooms sleeping between 1 and 6.

...Self Programming

The area offers fantastic opportunities for exploring the local environment. Mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking and hill-walking are just some of the highlights of the area, but also castles, beaches and other visitor attractions offer something for those less inclined to extreme sports.

...Facilities

The Centres offer warm, comfortable accommodation complete with drying rooms and secure storage for bikes or boats etc. Why not pick'n'mix and use the skills of a local instructor and centre equipment for as much, or as little, of your stay as you like. Classroom/lounge facilities are available for groups running their own more formal courses.

...Catering

It's up to you, choose to be fully self-catered,
have our cooks do the hard work for you,
Or, we can provide the food for you to cook yourselves.

Mountain Walking

Cadair Idris, The Rhinogs, The Moelwyns, The Arrans, and Plynlumon are all within easy reach of the Centre. With years of local knowledge and experience, staff can advise of suggested routes, items of interest or potential hazards en-route.

Mountain Biking

With the Coed y Brennin forest, The Mach 1, 2 & 3, the Dyfi Forest and Nant yr Arian close to the Centre, TYB makes an excellent base from which to base your rides. With several keen bikers on the staff team at the Centre, routes and suggestions are available. A hosing off area and a lockable outside storage area are available at TYB.

Rock Climbing

Just see the Mid wales or Merionydd guides for details of the hundreds of routes ranging from scrambles, to v-diffs way up into the E grades. The Cyfrwy Arrette and Pencoed Pillar are classic routes both within easy reach of the Centre.

Canoeing and Kayaking

The Dulas, the Dyfi, the Mawddach the Wynion and the Twymyn are all within easy reach of the Centre. Launching on the Dulas is only 1 minutes walk from Bryn Coedwig!

Fantastic opportunities for surfing and sea kayaking are also close to the Centre, with areas like Aberystwyth, Aberdovey and Barmouth all within easy reach.

Breaks for Family & Friends

Choose from a range of outdoor activities appropriate for the whole family, or go your own way and discover the sights of mid Wales. Pony Trekking, Rock Climbing, Steam Railways, King Arthur's Labyrinth and the Centre for Alternative Technology all add up to yield a holiday with a difference.
